Linda A Dudjak, PhD, RN

Biography

Dr. Dudjak’s previous research interests were related to her clinical specialty in oncology and included symptom management and accrual to clinical trials. More recently, as the CoDirector of a Research Dissemination Core of a NINR grant, she has become interested in strategies to integrate research into practice through the implementation of an evidence based model of practice.

Dr. Dudjak has been a member of the School of Nursing faculty in some capacity since 1987; and in November 2008, accepted her current position as Associate Professor in Acute and Tertiary Care. Her primary responsibilities are in the Administration and Leadership Concentration at the MSN and DNP level, where her teaching responsibilities focus on leadership development, and the application of current research evidence to achieve, quality and safety outcomes within healthcare She is also the primary teacher for the didactic portion of the senior level leadership course within the BSN Program - Transitions into Professional Nursing. She has lectured regionally and nationally on topics related to the practice of oncology nursing, healthcare administration and leadership and the translation of research into practice.

Dr. Dudjak has a professional background that includes over 20 years of practice as a healthcare leader with extensive operational experience in refining systems, leading change and developing programmatic initiatives across disciplines and institutions in both community and academic environments.

Her clinical expertise is in the field of oncology having practiced as a clinical nurse specialist in radiation oncology for (3) years and in a NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center for (6) years. She has published and presented on topics related to oncology practice and has served as a consultant to organizations seeking to develop and/or expand programs in these subspecialty areas.

Within the School of Nursing, Linda chairs the Evaluation Steering Committee and is a member of the Admissions/Promotion and Graduation Committee and the Senate Committee for Admissions and Financial Aid. She is also an appraiser for organizations seeking Magnet Designation through the ANA Credentialing Center.
